They are also thought to watch over individuals, offering protection, support, or inspiration, with some angels tasked with enforcing justice, maintaining cosmic order, or guiding souls after death. Many traditions organize angels into hierarchies or choirs, like archangels, seraphim, and cherubim, each with specific roles and powers. Examples of angels appear across religions: in Christianity and Judaism, figures like Michael and Raphael protect and guide; in Islam, angels such as Jibreel and Israfil deliver revelation and signal the Day of Judgment; and in esoteric or mystical beliefs, angels may represent archetypal energies, spiritual guides, or forces of nature.
